The snow on the ground in the front yard.
Dad went out and made a big ice ball and brought it in. We love ice so we wanted to eat it! We thought it was nummy.
A little while later, once there was more white stuff on the ground (8:45pm Mom says), the hoomans put out harnesses on us and took us out in the front yard.
Check out Lexi's feet. She wasn't very fond of that white stuff.
She was telling Mama to save her!
I thought the fluffy white stuff on the ground was so cool! And there were kids across the street playing in it and I wanted to join them. :)
The front yard.
The back yard.
We stayed up later than normal so Mom and Dad could watch the snow falling. Mom and Dad left us to go outside and play for a little while. Neither of us were happy about being left but at least we could see them through the window. We were furry tired since we are used to going to be early so we convinced them it was bedtime.
The hoomans woke us up furry early the next morning. We weren't too happy about it but at least we got some breakfast out of it. This is what it looked like when we woke up.
This is our backyard that morning.
And look at all that white stuff on our grill!
Of course Mommy got out the flashy box and took lots of pictures and made Dad and us take lots of pictures.

Our little footsie prints.
I wasn't afraid of that white stuff at all. It was cold on my tootsies but it was furry yummy too!
Sis didn't like it at all. Notice her front footsie. She couldn't keep her paws out of it enough!
Mom convinced her (i.e. picked her up and plopped her in the snow) to come out and give it a try.
She still wasn't furry happy about it.
Mom and Dad made this snowman. Can anyone guess what they used for the nose and mouth?
Mom's snow angel.
After a little playtime in the snow Mom said we needed a break. Here is my handsome self on our break.
And here is my lovely sister. She doesn't do cold very well!
Getting warm and snuggly on Mom's coat.
This is Mom's fancy schmancy picture of the snow-covered fence.
Another view of our backyard covered in snow.
Sis was begging Mom not to torture her in the snow anymore. BOL!
After a change into some warm, dry clothes, it was back out to play in the sun and snow!
I tried to help Sis get moving along but she wasn't having it.
That is until I took off toward the house. She couldn't wait to follow!
Check out this paw action!
Her feelings summed up in one expression about this whole experience.
This is where she stayed for most of our time in the snow. She did not like her feet getting cold and wet!

Telling Mom just how she felt about the whole thing.
I didn't want her to be alone so I joined her for a moment.
But then it was back into the white stuff!
Check out my not-so-floppy ears.
And now back to the earresistible floppiness.
Standing up at attention again!
Notice the paw. She was NOT happy about the snow!
But boy I was! It was so yummy!
Mom finally got her to come out in the snow but she went straight for the nummy flowers instead.
Mom wanted to get a picture with each of us to remember this day, my very first snow!
It was Sis' very first snow too!

After all that playtime in the snow, we were tired and wanting to get warm. So Mom decided to have a photoshoot inside. Here is one of the best pictures of me. :) Aren't I handsome?
And one of Sis who couldn't snuggle up in the warm blankets enough!
Our very first snow day was a lot of fun for me and not so much for Sis. She says if she nevers sees snow again she will be too happy. I, on the otherhand, really enjoyed myself. And so did Mom and Dad. They were acting like us when we go all cracker dog over a toy or treat! BOL!
Sadly the snow was mostly gone by that afternoon. Our yard still had the most left out of the whole neighborhood (we get a lot of shade) so we got to enjoy it the next day a little too. Our snowman, or pieces of him, lasted for a few days. This week we have been having warmer temps (mid-high 60s which is almost Chihuahua weather!) but today is pretty cold again. I think I speak for us both when I say we are ready for spring and the 70+ degree weather!
We have lots more pictures to share from last week too so we hope to get those up soon! We hope you enjoyed sharing in our snow day!
Note from Mom: The Munchkins reacted to the snow just as I expected based on their personalities. Bentley, despite the cold, seemed to thrive in the snow. He wasn't shy about running around, jumping, playing in it, and eating it! He even made yellow snow and I was so proud! Ha ha. As it goes with Chihuahuas, neither of them liked the cold very much, but Bentley was very good at tolerating it long enough to get some playtime in. We kept taking warm-up breaks to help give them a break and to get warmed up. We have to be careful with them in extreme temps. Lexi wanted absolutely nothing to do with the snow at all. She doesn't like the rain so I knew she wouldn't like the snow. She is very prissy and doesn't like for her feet to be wet, let alone cold. It was all she could do to keep her paws as far out of the snow as possible! She looked like a little contortionist out there. The only time she "forgot" about the snow was when she spotted the flowers that she likes to eat (don't worry they aren't poisonous and we don't really let her eat them anyway). She wasn't very happy with us but she got over it and was incredibly happy when it was time to go inside! We did take some video that I hope to share with you soon!

Lexi is too funny trying to not let her feet touch the ground. Great snowman! Much better than the ones my momma does (and she gets lots of practice).
So a nice adventure, but now hopefully the weather will return to normal.
Slobbers,

That sure is a pretty snow man! You guys got a lot of snow! Nice to know they were a bit predictable in their reactions!
You realize, after knowing me for a while now, that I'm with Lexi! Girl power!!! I couldn't believe my eyes seeing you have so much fun, Benny. That was a justifiably long post full of great photos. I felt like I was right there with you--only from the comfort of my heating pad. Thank you :)
Twink!
Shiver hates the snow and rain! I think Chico is a little more used to it because his previous owners made him stay outside a lot. When we first get snow, they both hesitate about going out into it but after it's been there for awhile, they'll both venture out into it.
I say the nose of your snowman is a Kong and the mouth is marachino cherries. Am I correct?
So cute, I just cannot stop laughing at Lexi picking up her back feet so only 2 feet touch the snow. So very funny!
Hugs, Tessa
Hahahaha! Lexi reminds me of Meadow. She HATES the snow. Too bad we live in Massachusetts; poor little princess.
I'm so impressed with Bentley though! What a little adventurer!
What great fun you guys have in the snow! We just love all your pictures. How we wish we get snow here. Our weather is terribly hot these days. The humans are even sleeping on the tiled floor to keep cool!
Glad that our Southern cousins got to experience what we go through up here in New England!! Bentley, you are my kind of dog....just loving the white stuff! But Lexi is just like Lilibell hating the snow.....Mom was laughing at the pictures of Lexi in the snow!
Waggles, Chewy
absolutely LOVE those photos of the dogs - especially w/the feets in the air like WTH? LOL :) <3
MISSED THEIR PIX.. I'VE BEEN GONE A WHILE!!

Hi there Bentley and Lexi,
Your first snowflakes day is so interesting. It's so cute that Bentley loved playing in the snow and funny that Lexi tried her very best not to have all 4 paws in the snow.
The snowman is so cool. Doesn't the nose belong to you guys? hehehe
We love the photos of your adventure today. Weeeee
