Christmas Loot: Part 1

Whew...what a crazy holiday weekend we had! Christmas Day was CRAZY for us. We had about a million places to go! But, we got to open lots of pressies! Woo hoo! We figured we'd start off by showing you our Christmas at home. We had to exchange presents with Mom and Dad on Wednesday morning because that was our last day at home before traveling to see Mimi and the rest of our family. Mom and Dad made it a tradition that we open our Christmas presents on our last day at home together.

Want to see what we got?

A NEW BED!!!!

Okay, so yeah, we already knew we were getting a new bed but we were still furry excited!

And two beautiful new harnesses!
Checking out the beautiful new bed.

Hmm...it smells like Hairy Winston!

Posin' with the snazzy new harnesses.

What a handsome devil!

And such a gorgeous little lady!

Mom and Dad didn't get us any clothes, treats, or toys. Can you believe that??!! Mom says it's 'cause we don't need any clothes, treats, or toys since we have plenty, but we say we NEED toys and treats! We are furry grateful for our gorgeous new bed that is super warm, soft, and comfy, and our pretty and comfy new harnesses from Park Avenue Dogs but we deserve toys and treats too, don't you think? BOL!

What did Mom and Dad get? A bunch of stupid hooman stuff we could care less about. But Mom went bonkers over this:

And Dad went nutso over this:

This is what we think about that:

More Christmas Loot pictures to come!

Christmas 2008 Pictures

Last year Mom made us get dressed up, trek out to the beach, and take some pictures in the cold. Since we didn't have a blog then, we never shared them with you guys. But, we thought you might appreciate them as some are pretty funny and of course we are both too stinkin' cute, as Mom says.

The last one is Mom's favorite. It was an "outtake" picture but it turned out so cute that Mom had to have it.

We had a photo shoot (just the two of us) this passed weekend but Mom says we can't share the pictures yet. Soon though. :) Maybe tomorrow since we won't be on at all on Christmas Day.

By the way, we DID get to open our presents this morning since it is our last day at home before we go out of town. We got a new bed and new harnesses with matching leashes! We will share the pictures after Christmas.

It's Christmas Week!!!

Hey furiends,

We wanted to pop in and let you all know that you may not hear from us much this week. Mom has been pretty busy at work trying to get stuff shipped before the holidays and her evenings are full of packing for our trip to Mimi's for Christmas. You probably won't hear from us tomorrow since it will be Mom's last day at work before we head out of town. She has Christmas Eve off which is great for us!

Tomorrow morning we get to open our presents! It has been a tradition since Mom and Dad got married that we all open gifts at home on our morning home before traveling for the holidays. Since we are heading out of town tomorrow night, we get to open everything tomorrow morning! We'll be sure to get Mom to post pictures of that soon. Tomorrow night we have to load all the presents into the car, make sure all of our stuff is packed and load it in the car, and then drive to Mom & Dad's hometown. Our first stop is Dad's Mom's house. We have dinner and a Chinese Christmas exchange with Dad's Dad's side of the family. Then, it is off to Mimi's. Today is Mimi's birthday. Mom says that Mimi is 40 years old today. Shhh....don't tell her we told!!! Since we won't get to see Mimi today, we will give her the birthday gift that we all got her tomorrow night.

Then Christmas Eve day we hope to have Mommy (and Daddy too) all to ourselves! Since she doesn't have to work and we don't have to be anywhere until 5, we are hoping to spend most of the day with her. Mommy mentioned something about a haircut but we are going to convince her not to go and stay home with us! Christmas Eve night we are supposed to go to Mom's cousin's house for dinner with Mom's Papa D's side of the family. Mom normally takes us along so we are hoping we get to go this year even though it is at a different place than normal.

Christmas Day is going to be CRAZY! We have a million places to go and a billion people to see! We start off by helping our Uncle H and Uncle D open their presents from us and everyone and check out their Santa presents. We get to open our presents from Mimi too. Then we have to go to our other grandma's house to open presents from them and to give them our gifts we got them. Then it is off to Nanny S's, where all the little hoomans open their presents and the big hoomans do some sort of Christmas in China. (Note from Mom: That would be a Chinese Christmas exchange.) They all eat breakfast and then it is off to Nanny N's house to open presents and give them their presents. Then, we have to go back to Mimi's and hang out with Rascal while Mom and Dad go to Dad's grandma's house. We aren't allowed at her house. :( Mom and Dad eat, AGAIN, open presents, and then come home to us. Mom said this year they have one more place to go on Christmas night and we can't go there either! Step-grandpa's Mom and Dad won't let us go in their house either. But that's okay because their house is just down the road from Mimi's and Mom promised they won't be there long.

The rest of the weekend shouldn't be too eventful. Mom mentioned coming home on Saturday evening instead of Sunday so she can take advantage of some of the after-Christmas sales for more decorations for next year. We would like coming home early because there is just too much going on at Mimi's with Uncle D, Uncle H, and Rascal all there!

We do have some pictures we wanted to share with you but Mom hasn't had a chance to get them straight for us so we may not get to it until later, but we'll try!

Merry Christmas to you all! We hope Santa Paws is good to you!

Takin' It Easy

Hi furiends,

Not much to report from this weekend. We just sort of took it easy with Mom and Dad. Since they had already finished their Christmas shopping they really didn't have anything to do. Well, I should say Mom finished her Christmas shopping but Dad didn't until Sunday. Mom took him to the jewelry store on Saturday and showed him some things that she likes. We stayed at home in our bed. It was rainy out and we're not too fond of the rain.

We did go to Hairy Winston on Saturday. We got to see Ms. Jennie, Ms. Donna, Ms. Chris, Winston, and Sophie. If we had gotten there just a few minutes earlier we would have gotten to see Rigby. That made us sad but then Ms. Jennie gave us treats and we forgot all about it. Mom wanted to get us some new shampoo and conditioner since the winter weather is drying out Lexi's skin. We normally use a Bio-Groom oatmeal shampoo but then we realized that the oatmeal dries out the skin! Ms. Jennie pointed out to Mom that you always do an oatmeal bath when you have chicken pox or poison ivy (Dad is very familiar with this) to dry out the sores. Mom had a duh moment. But it's okay because we still love her no matter what. Hairy Winston has a nice selection of shampoo and conditioners so Mom talked to Ms. Jennie about each one. They decided we should go with the Relaxing formula of Cloud Star Buddy Wash. It contains green tea and bergamot. Mom says it smells good. I guess we don't mind it so much.

While we were there, Mom saw a doggie bed that she just fell in love with. It is white and black damask print. It is nice and soft! Ms. Jennie let us try it out to see what size we needed and the fabric is velvety and nice. We tried the small and the medium. While the small was probably the perfect size for the both of us, Mom liked all the extra room in the medium. So, she picked up a new bed for us as a Christmas present! She let us check it out when we got home but said we can't actually use it until Christmas. That's why she didn't take any pictures yet either.

We had to leave Hairy Winston when we started acting up, as Mom calls it. A couple of furry big doggies came in since Lexi started fussing at them, I had to back her up and fuss at them too. Mom and Dad hid our heads from seeing them but we would catch a glimpse every now and then and wouldn't settle down. So Mom decided it was time to go. She didn't know what had gotten into us. We're not sure either. She was furry surprised at me because I'm always a good boy. But I guess not on Saturday!

Note from Mom: They weren't that bad. Lexi grumbled and barked a little at the two dogs that came in. She is intimidated by bigger dogs I think. Bentley did surprise us because although it isn't unusual for him to back Lexi up, it is unusual for him not to settle down and be his normal sweet self toward the dogs.

We spent Saturday night and most of Sunday snuggled with Mom and Dad watching Christmas movies. We did make a trip to the mall on Sunday afternoon to pick up a present for Mom's friend. We stayed in the car with Mom while Dad ran in for her and picked up the present they were holding for her. The rest of Sunday we spent cuddled with Mom on the couch. She got one of those nasty ole my grains and we had to make her feel better.

Sunday evening we got a bath! We knew it wasn't supposed to be bath day but it was. Normally we only get a bath once a month, but Mom said Sis' skin was dry and she wanted to use the new shampoo and conditioner to see if it would help. Plus, I got a little dirty outside in the backyard. It had been raining most of the day so my chest was a bit dirty. The new shampoo and condition smells really good. It eased Mom's my grains, which is a near miracle! After bath it was bedtime. We snuggled in close and were as snug as bugs in a rug!

Christmas Outfits

When we returned home from visiting Mimi and the rest of our family for Thanksgiving, there was a package that the mailman brought for us while we were gone! We love getting packages in the mail because they normally contain yummy goodies for us! Well, this package, Mom said, was from our Aunt Susan and cousins Max and Dottie. They are our Chihuahua cousins that we met at ClubChihuahua. Our Aunt Susan is an ace with a sewing machine! She makes furry nice, comfy, and cute clothes.

Inside the package was a Christmas dress, a Christmas vest, and a lovely, sparkly necklace. The necklace was from our Aunt Nadine and cousins Chewy and Lilibell. Aunt Nadine made a beautiful necklace to match Lexi's dress. Of course Mom couldn't wait to try the new Christmas outfits and necklace on us!

Here is what was in the box.

Don't our Auntie Susan and Auntie Nadine do great work? Our Auntie Susan has an Etsy site and our Auntie Nadine will be setting herself up online to sell her necklaces after the holidays! We will let you know where you can find her once we know!

***************

We still don't have an update on our grandma. Things are still kind of up in the air for her right now. She did have some tests done this morning and everything looked okay but the doctors have not been back in to see her yet today so we do not know how they want to proceed. We will update you when we have some new information. We would appreciate it if you would continue to keep her and our family in your prayers. Thank you.

Our Weekend with Rascal

On Friday we told you guys that our uncle Rascal was going to be staying with us for the weekend. And we posted some pictures of us from Thursday night. So, now to continue the story of Rascal's weekend at our house.

Thursday night was pretty uneventful like we told you on Friday. Rascal was excited to see us and we were excited to see him too. He slept good, which is unusual when he comes to our house, but he did want to get up a lot earlier than us. Mom wasn't thrilled about that and was hoping it would get better. And, for the most part, it did.

Friday was pretty uneventful too. We got to play with Rascal all day while Mom and Dad were at work. We were glad when they got home though. Rascal tried to steal all of our Mommy's kisses first but Mommy kindly told him that because it is our house and we are her babies she has to love us first to keep the peace. And she was right. I do not like having my position in the pack challenged! And you all know that I AM one fiesty Southern Chihuahua. Then, Mommy said the magic words: Hairy Winston! She dressed us in our new Christmas outfits that our Auntie Susan sent us (you'll see these in another post) and we headed on our way.

Miss Jennie was there with Winston and Sophie. Winston and Sophie aren't used to seeing us with Rascal so Sophie barked a greeting to him. We saw one of the ladies who's MinPin/Chihuahua mix Cafe was in the Hairy Winston Fashion Show with us. Cafe and her sister Georgiana weren't there with their Mommy but we could smell them on her!

As much as we love to go to Hairy Winston just to see the nice ladies, to see Winston and Sophie, to get yummy treats, and just to hang out, we did have a purpose for being there. Mimi needed us to get some bully sticks for her, we needed some of our super long bully sticks, and Mommy had to show Miss Jennie Bentley's car safety harness. Last weekend when Mommy was putting Bentley's harness on him she noticed that one of the metal rings that holds it together was messed up. It wasn't a solid ring like the one on mine. It had a gap in it. So Mom showed it to Miss Jennie and she called the company. Mom said they are sending a replacement harness for Bentley. Thank doG it held up through the accident in October.

After some more treats and kisses for Miss Jennie, it was time to go back home. The rest of the night was very uneventful and we headed to bed early. Mom said they had a big day of shopping ahead of them. We knew that meant we would be staying home with Rascal. And we were right.

Saturday morning Mom and Dad woke up, got showered and dressed, and disappeared for hours. We DO NOT like it when they leave us alone on the weekend. We know they aren't supposed to leave on Saturday and Sunday and we let them know that we know how it's really supposed to be. But when they returned they promised they wouldn't have to do it again. Mom said they got all of their Christmas shopping done and wouldn't need to spend any more days shopping for Christmas presents. Yay!

Mom had to leave shortly after they got back from shopping though. She had some sort of party at a friend's house. But Dad stayed behind with us. Mom wanted to take me but wasn't sure if I would be a bad girl and try to get food off of everyone's plates. It's probably better that I stayed with Dad though because I can assure you I would have tried to steal me some yummies! While she was gone we helped Dad get all the Christmas stuff out and straighten up the house a little. We were all ready for bed when Mom got back.

Sunday after breakfast we helped Mom and Dad decorate the house. Here we are supervising the decorating process.

Mom had a hard time when she put up this ornament. This is our brother's ornament. He crossed over the Rainbow Bridge in November 2007. It still makes my Mom's heart hurt. Her eyes started leaking and we got up quick, fast, and in a hurry to kiss her tears away. We did a good job too because we made her laugh and smile.

Last Christmas, our step-Mimi had two ornaments made for us. She had my nickname printed on mine instead of my actual name but that's okay because I am used to hearing Lexi more often than Lexus. Mom only calls me Lexus when I'm in trouble.

After decorating (we'll share our decorations another day), it was time for a little outside fun.

I had to make sure there weren't any of those pesky squirrels in the neighbors yard. Or else I would have had to chase him down like I did last time.

Then we decided Mom needed help opening the door.

We spent some cuddle time with Mom and Dad before they slipped out for a few minutes to go pick up one last Christmas present. Then when they got home it was back outside for some more fun!

Bubba was looking for those pesky squirrels in the neighbor's yard too. I don't think he found any though because he didn't go chasing after them.

Mom wrapped Christmas presents while we watched until it was time to go meet Santa Claus. She got us all gussied up in one of our Christmas outfits, then off to the Towne Center we went.

Mom let Rascal wear Bentley's first Christmas sweater. Bentley was so tiny that first Christmas that the sweater barely fit him but it fits Rascal furry well.

This is me stylin' and profilin'!

You've already seen our photo with Santa so we won't post it again. We had a nice weekend with Mom and Dad and with Rascal too I guess. Rascal caught on to our sleeping schedule much better after that first night. He was a good boy Mama said, except for peeing and pooping wherever he wanted to. Mimi said he doesn't like change. I guess we can understand that because we always have to investigate when Mom or Dad moves things around. Mom says Rascal is a dog that needs a set schedule.

We had fun playing with Rascal but we were glad when he went home. He is exhausting!

So that was our weekend. We found out last night that our grandma (Dad's mom) is sick. Mom said not to divulge any specifics just yet until we are certain but we would like to ask you to keep her and our family in your prayers furiends.
