Doggone Dog Swap....Very Late!
We are so furry late posting this. Chico & Shiver, we are furry sorry! The hoomans have been busy and haven't had any time to help us blog. Our Mom's flashy box business keeps her furry busy these days.
We did convince her that she needed to take quick snapshots of the loot we received from the dog swap when it came in. They have been sitting on her puter every since. We put our feets down today and insisted it was time she posted them so efuryone can see!
Wow! Look at all of our goodies! Skineezzz have always been a big favorite in our house and these were no exception. THANK YOU SPRINKLES, CHICO, & SHIVER! WE LOVE OUR SWAP GIFTS!

First Beach Trip of 2011!
Hi furiends! We haven't been posting much because the hoomans have been busy. But, Mom promised we could post when we have some super cool pictures of us or some nice stories to tell. So, we decided to hold her to that and let us tell you about our first visit to the beach this year.
This past Saturday the weather was nice and warm! Mom said it was 84 degrees but we just know it was Chihuahua-worthy weather. Mom decided it was so nice we needed to go to the beach. So, we got all lotioned up with sunscreen, loaded up our water, and headed for the ocean.
We went to our normal spot and holy moly there were lots of hoomans there! We saw a few doggies too but mostly hoomans. Here is my handsome self hanging out beside Mom on our beach blanket.
We saw dolphins in the water again but we usually see them anyway. This was the best picture Mom got with the flashy box.
Sis wanted to cuddle with Mom and Dad, especially when I was cuddling with them, but that's not anything now.
Some nice lady that I didn't know sat down behind us. I didn't see her when she got there but she looked really nice so I wanted to say hello. I kept talking to Mom trying to tell her I wanted to go meet the nice lady but you know hoomans. She walked me to a pool on the beach and tried to get me to go in with her, Dad, and Sis, but I wanted to go see the lady. Finally Mom understood and let me go say hey. And I was right. The lady was super nice and gave me lots of scritches. And there was another lady sitting close by that I made sure Mom knew I needed to go kiss too. She was a nice lady too.
We stayed for a few hours and then the hoomans got hungry. When we were packing up our stuff to leave, the ladies beside us were talking about a small dog. They said "look at that dog! He looks like he's only about 2 pounds." We turned around to look and do you know who we saw? Here's a clue...
Yep, our 2.5lb furiend Rigby. He was with his Mom and Dad. They came over to our spot and we got to play with Rigby for a little while. We also got some lovin' from his Mom and Dad. We shared some of our nifty sunscreen with him too since he doesn't have much hair. Isn't he adorable?
After they left, we packed up and went home. The hoomans needed showers so they could leave us home alone to go watch a stupid movie. :Sigh:
We've missed y'all!

Visitor
Thanks for all of the barkday wishes furiends! It was a nice birthday at home this year. :)
We had a visitor at our house this weekend. Our Uncle Rascal came to stay while our Mimi was in Tennesee. We are certain that he enjoys playing with us and cuddling with OUR Mom and Dad, but he also forgets his potty training...and therefore we forget ours...or well one of us does *bark*Bentley*bark*, when he is at our house. Probably because he misses his Mommy. We sure miss ours when we are away from her.
It's always fun to have visitors, especially when they like to play like Rascal does. We took him to our favoritest place in the whole world. He wouldn't take the treats our favorite ladies offered him but that ok because there was more for us!

Birthday Pawty!
Since it's been a furry long time since ya'll have heard from us, we wanted to share a little bit about the birthday pawty we just had. We got to spend lots of snuggle time with the Mommy and Daddy, got to eat a nummy special birthday dinner, got some new prezzies, and went on a trip to Hairy Winston for some nummy birthday bakery treats!
Our favorite part about Bentley's birthday was getting to see Ms. Jennie and getting to spend lots of snuggling time with the Mommy and Daddy.
We both got new matching harnesses and leashes. We love them. They came from our favorite online store, Park Avenue Dogs. They make the best harnesses and leashes! Mom liked these nautical harnesses best because they will work for all seasons. :)
Here's another angle for you.
And now for a shot of my hansome mug!
Sis showing off her new matching harness complete with big red bow.

And these are the nummy treats we got from Hairy Winston. They are furry yummy but they are way BIG for our little tummies so we've been snacking on them each day. We still haven't finished them off!

It was a furry nice birthday. The only thing that would have made it better is if all of you, our bloggy furiends, were there to celebrate with us! But we know you were all there in spirit.
Mommy says that when the season starts to wind down, we may be able to make a comeback to the bloggy world. That would be nice because we miss all of our furiends. :) We hope to see you again soon.

Happy Birthday Bentley!

Three years ago today, my sweet Munchkin boy was born. It was only 12 weeks later that he came into my life and filled it with so much joy. He helped heal a heart that was broken and made me smile when all I could do was cry. I can't even begin to explain how this little bundle of fur has impacted my life for the better.
My sweet Bentley, you bring so much joy into our lives. The Munchkin Daddy, Lexi, and I love you dearly. I couldn't ask for a better Munchkin. You have been such a blessing in our lives and we can't wait to spend many many many more years with you. I love you my Nugget!
As most of you know, normally, we plan a party for the Munchkins' birthdays but this year it just isn't possible. The Munchkin Daddy had a very bad allergic reaction a couple of weeks ago and we are still dealing with that and the repercussions from that. So, we are just having a small celebration tonight, just the four of us, with a special birthday dinner for the Munchkins. And of course we'll make a stop in to Hairy Winston to give the Munchkins a special birthday treat.
I did get Bentley a nice new harness (and of course I didn't leave Lexi out) for his birthday. I'll try to get my stuff together so the Munchkins can share their new harnesses with you later this week.

Vital Review
We have been away from blogland for quite a while. That's because we have been out enjoying our summer, oh, and because Mom is a slacker. We hope to make a return to the blog world soon and increase the frequency of our posts and commenting. Now on to the reason for this post...
Recently, we had the opportunity to try out a yummilicious new doggie food. The kind people at Freshpet sent us their new fresh doggie food for us to try and review. First we'll tell you a little about the food, although most of you have probably heard about it from some of our furiends that also gave it a try.
This comes directly from the Vital website. The Vital food is inspired by nature. It is meat-based, grain-free, and antioxident rich. They provide four different recipes that are sure to please even the pickiest of pooches.
There is the Salmon & Ocean Whitefish recipe. This food is "for dogs requiring a unique source of protein. Salmon is an excellent source of naturally occurring Omega 3 oils which are beneficial to the immune system, encourage healthy skin and coat, and improve joint mobility and reduce inflammation in all age groups."
The Turkey recipe is "for dogs that do well on poultry or when limiting the number of ingredients is important to the dog’s diet."
The Bison & Beef recipe is "for dogs that perform well on lean red meat. Bison also contains a high concentration of iron."
The Chicken, Beef, Salmon & Egg recipe is "for dogs that require a wide spectrum of amino acids from a multiple protein variety. A variety of proteins from multiple sources helps prevent protein sensitivities in some dogs."
We have to say that ALL of these recipes were furry yummy! When we saw the cutting board come out (cuz the hoomans have to cut it into chunks for our little mouths), we would go all cracker dog and run to the kitchen doorway. We, of course, have to rely solely on taste to review this food and leave all the ingredient contemplation to the hoomans, but we give this food five out of five paws!
Okay, now Mom says she needs to say a few things. Take it away Mom.

Thanks Munchkins. Hi furiends! Munchkin Mommy here. I just wanted to add a few things to the Munchkins' review of Vital. We were sent a package containing a roll of each of their 4 recipes along with two bags of their yummy treats. When the package first arrived, we were at the end of a kibble switch (more on that later...hopefully). The kibble switch had been going well up until the very last days. The kibble contained 5 or 6 different types of fish and I think it was just too rich for the Munchkins' little tummies. So, since we had the Vital I decided it was as good a time as any to try it out. We started out with the Turkey recipe because it would be easiest on their tummies. When I tell you they tried to devour it in 2 seconds I am not exaggerating. The Munchkins' loved it and their tummy issues created by the kibble switch went away.
Each new flavor we introduced, they loved. I was most anxious to see how they liked the fish and it went over very well. I did notice that they both got slightly constipated after the first sleeve of food, but I am 99% certain that had to do with their issues with the kibble before and would have resolved itself given more time on the Vital.
As most of you know, I spend a good bit of time educating myself about dog food and new foods that come out. I only want the very best for my Munchkins. I have been very impressed with everything I have read, heard, and experienced with the Vital food. The ingredients are top notch and I really like that the food is fresh. If I had the time, I would love to cook meals for my little Munchkins, but that just isn't a possibility for us. Vital is the next best thing.
The only negative thing I can say about Vital is the fact that nowhere close to me carries it yet. The closest place is in downtown Charleston and although it is only physically 10 miles away, the traffic that is ever-present downtown makes it more like 30 minutes away plus the time it takes to find parking. I will definitely be making an effort to continue with the Vital. Now I just have to find the time to make a trip downtown to stock up on it. I hope to supply the Munchkins' with a kibble breakfast and a Vital dinner. I just hope that some of the dog boutiques and stores closer to us will start carrying it so it is more easily available to us.
I encourage all you doggie Moms and Dads to visit the Freshpet website, the Freshpet blog, and the Vital website to learn more about this food.

**Disclaimer: Freshpet provided a sample of their Vital foods for the Munchkins to try and to review. We have not received any compensation for this review.

Wordless Wednesday

(Note from Lexus: A lot of you were wondering why I looked so sad in last week's Wordless Wednesday photo. No worries furiends! Auntie Nadine hit the nail on the head. I was contemplating what mischief I could get into next! BOL!)
